Description
Yatesville Lake provides plenty of room to skim the waves or catch some rays in your favorite cruisecraft--be it a houseboat, pontoon, speed boat or jet ski. The Yatesville Marina, named the nation's "Most Outstanding Project" in 1999 by the States Outdoor Boating Association, offers everything boaters and fishers need for lake fun. Back on shore, enjoy challenging play on the park's new 18-hole par-71 Eagle Ridge golf course. The course, built on mountainous terrain, features dramatic views and is part of the Kentucky State Park System's "Signature Series" of golf courses. Yatesville Lake State Park has a variety of campsites to suit anyone's idea of "roughing it," including double-wide sites for two RVs and boat-in, primitive sites. The 2,300-acre lake offers good bluegill, bass and crappie fishing.
Geography:
Yatesville Lake State Park is located near the town of Louisa, in Lawrence County, and opened in 1999.
Recreation:
Yatesville Lake State Park is home to several challenging and varied trail systems. The Mary Ingles Trail System, both a Community Millennium Trail and a National Recreation Trail, is located at the marina area and is made up of six separate trail loops: three rugged, wooded hiking trails, two exercise paths, and one ADA nature trail. The Pleasant Ridge Trail System is made up of five separate wooded nature trails. The Yatesville Lake Multi-Use Trail is a large, 20+ mile trail, open to hikers, backpackers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Other activities at the park include fishing in the lake for bluegill, crappie, and bass, miniature golfing, and regular golf.
Facilities:
Pleasant Ridge Campground has both full hookup campsites and primitive campsites--both "boat in" and "hike in" sites. The campground also has a playground facility, nature trails, laundry room, restrooms & showers, and a dump station. The "boat in" sites are accessible only by boat, for secluded lakeside camping. The campgrounds was named among the best campgrounds in Kentucky and Tennessee by the Menasha Ridge Press. Other facilities at the park include the Eagle Ridge Golf Course and pro shop and a picnic pavilion with two picnic shelters, a playground, a volleyball court, and a grill. An ADA-compliant fishing jetty and lagoon may be found at the marina, which has a terrific boat dock and a store that sells gas, groceries, bait, fishing equipment, and souvenirs. A public beach area, equipped with playgrounds, restrooms, showers, and a snack bar is located near the marina.
Reservations must be made 1 Day(s) ahead of arrival and can be made up to 12 Month(s) in advance.
